• Primary Care

A primary care provider is the first point of contact for individuals in their acute medical care, management of chronic medical conditions, and preventive health care. The role of the primary care provider is to oversee and coordinate care and to help patients navigate the health care system. We provide general primary care for adolescents and adults. We offer a holistic approach to primary care in which we recognize the complexity of each person’s health care needs and the connections between systems of the body and mind. We reserve same-day visits for acute medical problems, including respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal symptoms, and headaches. We also provide ongoing management of chronic conditions, such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthma, as well as comprehensive preventive and wellness care. Our providers have unique expertise in conditions which have gender-related differences, including osteoporosis, heart disease, and migraine headaches. We also offer compassionate care for depression and anxiety disorders. We refer to appropriate specialists when needed, and help to oversee patients’ care in close communication with other providers. Our focus is on comprehensive primary care with a collaborative approach tailored to each unique person.

  • Preventive Care

Preventive care is a central part of a person’s overall health, and we emphasize wellness care at our practice. A comprehensive annual visit is a time designated to address prevention and wellness. In addition to a thorough physical examination, we perform pap smears for cervical cancer screening, and screening blood work such as cholesterol and thyroid testing. Our providers counsel patients in detail about cancer screening, including screening for cervical cancer, breast cancer and colon cancer, as well as osteoporosis screening and prevention. We counsel patients regarding vaccine recommendations, and administer immunizations appropriate for each person’s age and medical conditions. In addition, we focus on maintaining a healthy relationship with food and physical activity, and discuss vitamins and supplements that may be helpful for prevention. Using a thorough and holistic approach, our providers engage in shared decision-making with each individual regarding their personalized preventive care plan.

  • Adolescent Care

Our caring providers and staff create a comfortable environment in which adolescents between the ages of 14 and 18 can receive medical care. We offer thorough counseling for adolescents regarding general health prevention and wellness, including contraceptive counseling and STI prevention. We provide primary care of acute medical conditions, annual check-ups, and sports physicals. Our providers also offer gynecologic care for adolescent girls, including IUD and contraceptive implant insertion, as well as management of menstrual abnormalities. Our experts in adolescent medicine strive to provide compassionate, personalized care in a safe and welcoming environment.
